North Korea has fired what is thought to be an intercontinental ballistic missile towards the sea off its east coast, militaries in South Korea and Japan said.

It landed inside Japan’s exclusive economic zone , 170km west of the northern prefecture of Aomori, at 3.44pm , the coast guard said. South Korea’s Defence Ministry did not immediately confirm whether the test involved an ICBM. North Korea has not tested such missiles at full range or capability since 2017.

This month, leader Kim Jong-un said North Korea would soon launch multiple satellites to monitor military movements by the US and its allies. That moratorium had often been touted as a success by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who held several historic summits with Kim in 2018 and 2019, but never managed to sign a concrete pact to limit the North’s nuclear or missile arsenals.

Government pledges $5.4bn for North Queensland dam before business caseBarnaby Joyce said the project would be opposed by “green cynics”, but the PM said the dam was 100 per cent guaranteed, despite the business case for it not being completed. auspol BarnabyJoyceLNP Someone should remind Barnaby that you shouldn’t turn up to work drunk Why on earth would you not build it? Similar to Daniel Andrews failing to build the East West Link that would have bought in 100s of Million$ into Melbourne with the majority of funding from the Fed. Gov. He’s just covering the govt’s arse so they can blame someone else when it’s knocked back. They know it’s an environmental disastrous project but they continue to spruik grand plans to make it look like they’re doing something. When everyone knows they do nothing of any use to us.
