Peter Dutton has found praise in an unlikely place after the Labor Indigenous Affairs Minister commended the Liberal leader for his “open mind and open heart” during a recent Voice working group meeting.

Mr Dutton was invited to attend the referendum working group last Thursday after he pitched 15 questions to the government around the Voice to Parliament and its potential structure.

Indigenous Affairs Minister Linda Burney welcomed Peter Dutton's involvement at the referendum working group meeting at Parliament House in Canberra. Picture: NCA NewsWire / Martin Ollman “I’ve got some questions we didn’t get to the other day,” Mr Dutton told reports in Canberra on Tuesday The Indigenous Affairs Minister was also pressed on an emerging issue around the scope of the Voice, with concerns being raised on whether the body would have a role advising National Cabinet.

Albanese declares Indigenous voice won’t impact First Nations sovereigntySpeaking ahead of the opening of the parliamentary year, the PM dismisses the notion of having a constitutional convention before the referendum Writing apartheid (separation) into the Australian constitution is not a good thing. One country, one nation, one flag, one Australia. We the people say no. lol so he will not have a problem including it in the constitution then which would get more First Nations people concerned about this onboard with the voice.. this can’t be a ‘trust us’ exercise just do it and secure as much support as possible.. 🙄🙄 The No voters are more worried it may impact on White Australia sovereignty 😵‍💫

PM says Voice not preoccupying Labor’s policy agendaPrime Minister Anthony Albanese has fielded questions about the Voice to Parliament, including if he thinks the Government is neglecting other policy areas. Energy bills getting higher, but old mate Albo’s priority is a voice to parliament. Securing his own bit of lefty glory, like Rudd’s apology - which has clearly made a MASSIVE difference in the lives of Aboriginals. Or Dulcie Gillard’s fake misogyny speech - written by a man. Albo wants to have his own historical flagstone. Neglected other areas. He certainly is, he hasn't attended a tennis match in days now.

Labor vows to end ‘jobs for mates’ culture of government boardsCompulsory advertising, professional selection procedures and tracking of board members’ performance are expected to emerge from a new review of federal government boards, authorities and tribunals. They literally appointed a former labor mp to the economic advisory committee a month ago without advertising the role. Printing a media release is not journalism. latingle Will end it now they have filled all the positions. Board positions not advertised filled, ambassador roles filled (Rudd, Smith) yep now let’s look into political appointments what a joke This might be good. Keep looking at the Aussie economy and there has been so much theft of soveign wealth to overseas & local billionaires and their pals, that its v hard to determine what is necrotic tissue and what is living productive flesh.
