Have you ever thought about quitting a job that didn't inspire you and chasing a childhood dream? Kristie Ting did just that.

Ice cream is more than just a sweet treat for Kristie Ting – it brings back fond memories of her childhood with her parents from Hong Kong , and later travelling adventures.

"I just saw in that industry that a lot of people were getting bullied out in the corporate world, because in the end of the day, they're a big corporation, and you can be replaced," she said."With big corporations, sometimes I feel like they just can get away with being bullies and trying to force a situation where someone can't turn to something."

She was exposed to a variety of new ice cream flavours including peach melon and matcha, further cementing her passion for the dessert. "The ice cream part of my business always had my grandfather mind because I think he really just planted that seed when I was really young."Of course, starting a business from scratch – although something she had dreamed of – was far from easy.

"The reality was like, 'you're on your own … I've still got the mortgage, I still got bills to pay, but this is like, this is it — I don't have a plan B like this is my plan, and I just have to make it work.
