Wesfarmers says its Target and Kmart stores have been most heavily impacted by lockdowns across Sydney and Melbourne | domp

Major retail conglomerate Wesfarmers says its Target and Kmart stores have been most heavily impacted by lockdowns across Sydney and Melbourne, but is expecting shoppers to spring back to stores once things reopen.

At the company’s full-year results in August, Wesfarmers reported falls in trade across its retail divisions for the first eight weeks of the new financial year, most notably at Kmart and Target where sales fell 14.3 per cent. “Officeworks has benefited from strong demand to support customers who are working and learning from home, but the shift in sales mix towards technology and furniture products has continued to impact margins.”Online sales have remained strong during the lockdowns, Mr Scott said, and Wesfarmers’ businesses were well-placed coming into the peak Christmas period, with plenty of stock despite the ongoing global shipping delays.

Morrison’s ‘reverse ferret’ on net zero target is ‘brilliant’ScottMorrisonMP All the talking points leading up to the election will be Climate Change, but no legislation, just hot air. Typical Morrison, all talk & no action. ScottMorrisonMP Just think about the years of missed opportunities jennamclarke remarkable given no policy yet from a disjointed Government ScottMorrisonMP The UNs SDGs are totally unrealistic, just as any net zero emissions set for 2050. Total political subterfuge delivered for media consumption, to assuage the Green lunatic fringe & activists, that the LNP are buying the enormity of an orchestrated hoax, to bolster UN credibility.

Nationals still deciding on net zero 2050 climate targetThe federal National Party still hasn't backed a proposal which would allow Scott Morrison to take a 2050 net zero emissions reduction target to the UN climate conference in Glasgow. Tough job, when you finally realise that Climate Change for Dummies is too high a level and need to commission a picture book. The obscene thing is that the Nats, the junior partner in the minority government, who decry others on their climate change direction, don't themselves, after eight years, seem to have a clear policy on the matter preffering to just take the spoiler position We deserve better. BREAKING: The_Nationals’ Barnaby_Joyce, alcoholic adulterer in charge of 4.5% of the national vote, holds country to ransom to sabotage meaningful action on ClimateCatastrophe. Thanks, ScottMorrisonMP, absent as usual.

Victoria records 2,232 new COVID-19 cases as it hits 70 per cent double vaccination targetA further 2,232 local COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths have been reported in Victoria as Melbourne prepares for the end of its sixth lockdown. No doubt the changed vax requirement is recognition that alcohol and social distancing & other compliance measures don't mix. An infected hospo worker is able to infect many, many ppl in close sweaty proximity in pubs, clubs and bars. Sensible, necessary measure. It may as well be because of religion! Because the science obviously didn't work! LOL Wow
