Breaking: The Reserve Bank of Australia has announced that King Charles III won’t feature on the redesigned $5 note.

King Charles III won’t replace his mother on Australia’s next $5 note, instead the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II will make way for a “design that honours the culture and history of the First Australians”.

The Reserve Bank of Australia announced its decision on the note design on Thursday morning, but said the new design was still some years away from being finalised and coming into circulation. It confirmed the Australian Parliament would continue to feature on other side of the note. The RBA said it consulted with the federal government before making its decision, and had the government’s support.

“The bank will consult with First Australians in designing the $5 banknote. The new banknote will take a number of years to be designed and printed,” it said in a statement. “In the meantime, the current $5 banknote will continue to be issued. It will be able to be used even after the new banknote is issued.

Hear! Hear!

Ok but then who decides what is on the money of australia, the aboriginals! Really where has Democracy gone.

Without any political pressure from the AustralianLabor govt I would suspect.

Too ugly 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Prove me wrong.

Totally disrespectful to who at the moment is our monarch! Whoever made that call should be exposed by the Governor General and sacked. For what it’s worth, when you lose respect for who you are and those who represent you, you don’t exist!

No one cares - value is the same - we should be more concerned of a cashless society. Then everyone will wish they had cash when authorities freeze your funds!!

I am sure that will save plenty of time not awaiting Royal approval for the design. WIN-WIN

This government slow chipping away at anything to do with our past…

The age. Minds wired shut.

And?

Shane Warne died last year the timing is superb, let’s make it happen

It’s a joke. It should be a vote by the taxpayers. Not limp wristed politicians.

Chicka the 3rd needs to be there to remind us we are not mature enough yet.

👍

So will it be prince Andrew? He’s already been on a few fives…..

Finally the RBA thinks that a worthy Aussie should be on our notes instead of a foreigner. Makes so much sense. Next step our coins.

This is awful. Should not have been allowed to happen!

Great decision

Absolutely disgusting decision to make on behalf of us.

Should be harrys book cover

Who cares?

Pretty disrespectful all round. The Queen was an outstanding person, and you don't have to be a monarchist to agree. They could have left her picture on their for a few years. don't forget if people are willing to show such disrespect, the chances of them respecting you are low

It's just Charlie ....no crown ...

We are still part of the monarchy

The reckless left wing RBA and its exec's are engaging in an act of subversion. Also engaging in cancel culture, attempting to cancel out our Head of State from the constitutional equation. They have NO AUTHORITY to prepare the notes for a Republic not voted on by we the people.

Not unexpected but the wrong decision

Good

Disgusting. Areal act of terrorism. Erasing history will not honor indigenous people.

Hooray.

Blame King Charles & his crime family who created the aboriginal industrial complex. This is all about the Great Reset they are the authors of.

Monarchists outrage in 3, 2, 1...

PolipediaAu

PolipediaAu

Oh good

🤦🏻‍♀️

We all know the LIEberal LiberalAus party will be pushing for their God uncle Rupert to be put on there instead as the head of the LIEberal Notional Murdoch party

🤣🤣 what a fathead

Good

Flag next…

Good, now I can feel free to pocket and use the new $5 note when it materialises

Print it on toilet paper also.

Yayyyyyy

Put ANDREW on it

This has Albo and LABOR Written all over it .

Spewin

Bottom line RBA has no farking idea about reality full stop

Very good move . Why should they print UK king in Australia. Soon Australia should become a republic

Probably because there wont be any!

Wonderful 💋

It really should be David Boon.

The Australian public should have been asked Not some government minion

vive la république

Republic Labor’s 1st push

That new $5 note looks bloody awful, kindy kids could do better than that! 😕

Now to get The Queen off all our coins and ensure Charles doesn’t appear on them

I suppose we’re getting some leftie woke shit on it instead 🤷🏼‍♀️

so he is just a TOKEN king

Good. Stuffy old fart

Good. We’re not British

Hardly surprising when it’s been revealed the QC Camilla has been undermining Charles family for decades by leaking stories to the press!

YaY! Since the much loved Liz has left us, it's time for Australia to become a Republic and break away from these slave owners for good.

So is Klaus Schwab going to replace him?

Australia is a beautiful land with unique flora and fauna, it is best to have something related to the land. And it is also time country becomes a republic.

with 30%+ population obesed, new $5 notes should be like

Fantastic news

Would rather have King Charles than a spear rock or boomerang, how embarrassing and ridiculous it will be

more virtue signalling that just re-emphasises we are not actaully doing anything properly about ongoing problems in indigenous society. What about honouring an ethnic Austrlian ie. european migrants who have done SO much to build the country that took them in over last century

LOL....'Consult with First Nations' on the design of the white colonist 5 dollar note. It's clear that woke activists love white colonist inventions....even though they try to incite violence and say they are still at war with us. The irony?

Socialist Albo & Co. continues to undermine the governor-general.

Good decision

Expect Sky to be apoplectic for the next 72 hours with the word ‘woke’ used often. Should be entertaining. How is rowan dean going to spend his $5 in Kmart? 🤭

Klaus Schwab?

It's pointless provocation & virtue signalling. Leave the queen on the $5 note. Biden's proxy war will soon make it worthless and put it out of circulation anyway.

Good

Thank god for that

Charlie who ?

Absolute parasites

Good.

😡😡😡😡

Take note (pun intended) CanadianMint

The only King Charles that should be on our notes.

Racists will be instead

What are they going to put on there? A gay Indigenous person? 🤔🥴

Can we put DanielAndrewsMP and Lindsey Fox’s helicopter on the $10 note

Most do not use cash any more.

Isn’t it time to have a $5 coin. I mean most things cost at least 250% more than they did when the $2 coin was introduced

Disgraceful

Anyone would think there is a conspiracy to remove absolutely all symbols of our Constitutional Monarchy.

One of a series of moves to remove the British monarchy from Australia.

King Charles tell-all interview would be a ‘huge mistake’: Nigel FarageGB News host Nigel Farage says it would be a “huge mistake” if King Charles III were to be interviewed by the BBC. “There are times when the head of state should speak,” Mr Farage told Sky News host Paul Murray. “But to sit down and be asked a whole series of questions, and no doubt he’ll be overly franc in his response. “Please, please Your Majesty, I beseech you, don’t do it.” 🥴 He wouldn't be needing to do any of this if he had been a sensible Father in the first place and listened to Harry's concerns and been stronger with William. US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision a ‘welcome outcome’CommSec’s Tom Piotrowski says the market will kick off in “positive territory” today after the United States Federal Reserve announced its decision on interest rates. “They’ve raised rate by a quarter of a per cent which is precisely what the market was pricing in,' Mr Piotrowski told Sky News Australia. “So that comes as a great relief … given the fact that the norm in recent history has been rate hikes of half a per cent or three-quarter of a per cent as tended to be the case last year – this is a welcome outcome. “It’s a reflection of inflation having been tamed somewhat in the US.” Presented by CommSec.

A King Charles tell-all interview could be seen as a ‘tit-for-tat’ situationKing Charles knows he'd be “asked difficult questions” if he agreed to do a tell-all TV interview, says HELLO’s Royal Editor Emily Nash. “He’s made it very clear that as King, he’s moved on from his role as Prince of Wales where he was able to be more outspoken and talk about all sorts of things,” Ms Nash told Sky News host Paul Murray. She said it's also 'been a really tricky time for the Royals'. “He’s going to be asked difficult questions, he can’t just go on TV at this point and not be asked about Andrew, not be asked about Harry. 'I don’t think he needs to go down this route because there’s also a danger that it could be seen as some kind of tit-for-tat situation given the other very public TV interviews that happened in recent months.'
