Australian cricket's newest star Marnus Labuschagne surged into the elite 20-man group for the first time - but there was no room for Usman Khawaja.

Test veteran Usman Khawaja's fall from favour has been laid bare after he was left off Cricket Australia's contract list.

The news was bleak for former one-day international player of the year Marcus Stoinis and Ashes hero Marcus Harris while Shaun Marsh's omission is further indication the curtain has been drawn on his international career. Also left off for the upcoming season were Peter Handscomb and seamer Nathan Coulter-Nile, who have not played for Australia since last year's World Cup.

“After missing the list last year Mitch Marsh’s recent form showed he has a lot of international cricket ahead of him as a batting all-rounder. Mitch proved this with his man of the match performance against New Zealand at the SCG in the last game Australia played and a five-wicket haul in the last Test match he played on the Ashes tour.”

The most racist decision ever. Khawaja has been treated so unfairly . he rescued Australia from defeat in so many matches .

Very sad - not sure what the politics are , a great player .

Too inconsistent

'Disgusting' to hand COVIDSafe data contract to US company Amazon | Sky News AustraliaThe decision to hand the COVIDSafe data storage contract to US company Amazon was a “disgusting, disgraceful” move, according to Crossbench Senator Rex Patrick. \n\nAmazon was awarded the contract to keep data collected from the COVIDSafe app on its servers but Mr Patrick insisted the contract should have been awarded domestically. \n\nThe South Australian Senator told Sky News he wrote to Finance Minister Mathias Cormann urging him to invoke powers that would give extra weighting to “procurement” that benefits Australian companies. \n\n'I was actually quite disgusted by the government in their handing of the COVIDSafe data cloud storage contract to a US company when we have the expertise in this country,” he said. \n\n'We want to be investing in and supporting those sorts of capabilities in Australia.\n\n'We understand that we need to rebuild the economy, We understand we need to relook at things like self-reliance. We really do need to focus on making sure that when we expend taxpayers' money we direct it where possible to Australian companies.'\n Senator_Patrick This is NOT keeping jobs in Australia. This is NOT creating jobs for Australians. Incredible hypocrisy of the Federal Government. All this grandstanding about keeping jobs and businesses in Australia and their first large initiative is to outsource to a big US IT company. Senator_Patrick Meh... they've already got our information no biggie eh

Sydney childcare centre closes after child, 4, contracts coronavirus | Sky News AustraliaA four-year-old child has contracted COVID-19 forcing the closure of a childcare centre in Sydney's west.\n\nThe Bright Minds Academy in Cranebook was closed and contact tracing was immediately initiated following the diagnosis. \n\nClose contacts were identified and a deep clean of the venue was ordered. \n\n This is very likely to occur in schools as well. It will be interesting to see how things go when random cases start occurring in schools. Especially if they bring their bugs home to the family, just like they have done in the past. Hopefully, they'll recover with no long-term ill effects. Tell us again how kids can't get it and schools are safe? so maybe we should see what's up with U.K. kids
