She recommends that renters "have a conversation with your landlords – not all landlords are evil".
"Direct them to resources, like MakeTheSwitch and ask them to think about how improving their rental property is actually going to improve the comfort of their residence and improve the durability and life of their property. Some landlords will come on board," she says. She suggests using gap filler to seal between architraves or the wall around windows in living areas.
"Even though you don't own the property, it's a small investment that will pay off in terms of your comfort and reduction in bills," she says. Finally, for owners and renters alike, she says there's a cheap workaround in lieu of pricey double-glazed windows, "A layer of bubble wrap – on those windows that don't have a beautiful view and don't let in your winter sunshine – can make [a normal window] perform like a double-glazed window.""There are big wins to be had with really simple measures."Your information is being handled in accordance with the

Is Tracy Grimshaw on The ABC now?
not one mention that it cost an average of $15,500 to 'switch' for gas to electricity. hilarykharper beverlywang
So abc wants us to switch from gas powered homes to coal powered homes?
There should be far more indignation at the fact that we are forced to rush away from using gas when there is no action taken to stop gas exports irrespective of domestic needs.
Not keen and won't be!!
The ABC needs to get off the Jazz Cabbage
At least the gas still works when the power goes out
WTF The only other alternative is coal power
Eat biscuits and chocolate you won't need gas or electricty for that meal!
I take medicines for that. Getting fan mail from AGL
the tiny amount of gas domestic uses have is not the issue. This is more misdirection. It's the use of it for power & industry that needs massive reduction. auspol ClimateCrisis
Hell no. Wouldn’t be without gas. It’s vastly superior for heating, cooking & hot water. Electricity just doesn’t cut it.
I read articles like this to find out how to cook my kilos and kilos of meat with the maximum possible emissions.
I can imagine in the future when 7 million Victorians come home after work in Winter, plug 5 million EV’s onto the grid to recharge, turn on their electric heaters to keep warm and use their electric ovens to cook all at the same time, generated by what? Wind? 🤣

Get off gas and onto mains electric which is generated by….coal or gas. 👍🤡
I grew up with the “clean natural gas” campaign. Now it’s not only skyrocketing in price thanks to dodgy export deals, we’re told it’s not safe! Ffs. Anyway if you get everyone to move to lecky that will push those prices up, especially without decent govt support for renewables.
Didn't the EU just rule that gas is a green energy source (nuclear too)? What have you got against green energy, ?
Australians contribution to the .04% global total of carbon in the atmosphere 0.0000156%

Sorry Aunty, when I read this tweet/headline I thought you were referring to flatulence. Figured you were cooking up some miracle cure in the article.
No thanks
