The Princess of Wales has apologised after Kensington Palace released a digitally altered image of her and her three children to mark Mother's Day in the UK.The photo, which was pulled by large news agencies after its release, will do little to allay speculation about the royal's condition as she continues her recovery from surgery.
Kensington Palace had claimed the picture was taken by Catherine's husband, Prince William, earlier in the week in Windsor, where the family live."Wishing everyone a Happy Mother's Day." His wife, Queen Camilla, has also taken time away from royal duties although she has since recommenced them. "I don't think it's actually of national interest. Although she's a public figure, I think she's got a right to her privacy and I think the world should stop focussing on personal lives and start focussing on more important matters, such as poverty, the environment, world peace," she said.Kelcey Kintner, a crisis management expert for Red Banyan PR, said the past few weeks could have been handled differently.
