Jetstar 787 suffers problems with both engines on approach to Osaka | Mattonews

Pilots of a Jetstar 787 Dreamliner encountered problems with both engines of their passenger plane as they came into land at the Japanese city of Osaka on Friday.

A short time later, the other General Electric engine on Flight JQ15 briefly encountered the same problem, sources familiar with the matter said. Figures from Boeing show almost half of the fatal aircraft accidents that occurred worldwide in the 10 years to 2017 happened during the final approach and landing of commercial jetliners.Credit:The Australian Transport Safety Bureau confirmed on Tuesday that the Jetstar aircraft experienced an "engine surging event" but did not elaborate on the incident.

"The ATSB is currently liaising with our colleagues at the Japan Transport Safety Board on an expected investigation into this event," he said.
