Collapsing Aussie dollar will 'encourage more interstate travel' | Sky News AustraliaQueensland Independent MP Bob Katter says the tourism industry in North Queensland and the Gold Coast is “in desperate trouble”.\n\nMr Katter said the number of tourists were “down 30 per cent before the coronavirus hit” and “we’re hoping like hell that people are not going to go overseas”. \n\n“The implications for us are diabolical,” he said. \n\nLooking to the future Mr Katter said, “the governments stimulus package is very good” and will help to ease the economic difficulties experienced by the tourism industry due to the greatly reduced numbers of travelers. \n\nMr Katter also said the collapsing dollar may 'stop people from going overseas' and encourage more interstate travel within Australia. Who'd want to go there? But he ain't spendin’ any time on it, because, in the meantime, every three months a person is torn to pieces by a crocodile in North Queensland! Well let's be honest, a $100 buck hotel in Australia gets you what ? A $100 hotel in Thailand gets you 5 star and breakfast.
