‘Realities of a changed climate’: Joyce says people must be lured off floodplainsDeputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce told the Herald that residents should not be ordered off the floodplains but assisted to move through subsidies. However, this was the responsibility of state governments only. michaelkoziol Of course he would say that.!!...He, like his LNP government don't want to tackle climate change...we have got to learn to live with it. The LNP DON'T GET IT!!!....We are 'self destructing'...We need to ACT on climate change NOW!!! FOOL!!! michaelkoziol Maybe the Libs and Nats at govt level may stop assisting in the approval of land developments and also stop developers from selling land in flood prone areas. There is a good place to start michaelkoziol There it is, just as we knew it would be. Deny and delay then when it’s clearly a current catastrophe and not something he can kick down the road, tell citizens it’s up to them to adapt and don’t expect the federal government to help. Sickening but predictable.
