The bomb response unit has given the scene the all clear, however delays of about 40 minutes are still expected.

Police conducted a safety check at Footscray Station after an object was located unattended outside the station.Trains have resumed but delays are still expected after the bomb response unit were called to Footscray train station to inspect a suspicious object.Advertisement

The bomb response unit attended the scene and gave the all clear just after 5.30pm, a police spokeswoman said.Metro Trains are estimating delays of an half an hour to 45 minutes.However, he said the crowding had eased after the incident was resolved.
