Images of pastoralist communities living under Israeli occupation in the West Bank and the impact of the attacks by settlers on the Palestinian shepherds’ lifestyle and livelihoods

, Palestinians have reported an escalation in attacks. About 450,000 Israelis have settled in the region.

Umm Fagarah, home to 22 households, was attacked on 28 September. Between two settler outposts – Havat Ma’on and Abigail – its location makes it “a thorn in the settlers’ throat”, says Mahmoud. “We started to throw stones. When the army showed up, we were worried they will attack us and arrest us. We made sure not to be close to them.” He says the army fired teargas and grenades at them. Then other cars full of settlers arrived. “We were surrounded.”

“Havat Ma’on and Abigail are expanding and connected to water, electricity and roads, and we’re shrinking,” he says. “We’re deprived of the basics of rights – the right to a decent home, the right to water. Waa’d, 27, from al-Ganoub in south Hebron, says: “Settlers’ intimidation is routine. Even in the sanctuary of our homes sometimes.” She says her husband was attacked in April 2021 by five settlers who hit him with their vehicle and her daughter has been left traumatised by the experience. “When hearing a car passing by, she panics, thinking it might be settlers.

The dustbowl is California, Pre-Greta CC, we were warned 😡🤬 On May 11, 1934, a massive dust storm two miles high traveled 2,000 miles to the East Coast, blotting out monuments such as the Statue of Liberty and the U.S. Capitol. The worst dust storm occurred on April 14, 1935. I can see why there is no author’s credit of this creative writing exercise/garbage?

APRA boss Byres to stand down early from bank regulatorThe head of Australia's bank regulator will end his term almost two years early, announcing he will step down from his role at the end of October. Good timing! If APRAinfo had kept the assessment rate at 7% for all new home loans after the 2019 federal election, RBAInfo wouldn’t be taking so much heat now for raising the cash rate. Care to comment Mr Byres? House prices to the moon so mission accomplished.
