The contract and clearance dispute between multi-code star Israel Folau and Queensland Rugby League is set for a full-day showdown in the state’s Supreme Court next month | tobycrockford23

The case was heard in the Queensland Supreme Court on Friday and Justice Susan Brown listed the matter for a full-day hearing on Monday, July 12.

The French Super League club says Folau remains under contract with it, but Folau claims the contract was repudiated after the club failed to meet its financial obligations to him.On Friday, the Queensland Supreme Court heard Folau was still contracted to Catalans and he was not due to be released from that deal until November.

Queensland mining magnate and former politician Mr Palmer has vowed to throw his considerable resources at the case.Mr Palmer will base his case around a clause in the playing rules about international clearance andOn Friday, Folau’s lawyer Edmund Robinson sought an earlier hearing date, so Folau could debut for Palmer’s Southport Tigers as soon as possible.

He argued Mr Palmer and Folau initially agreed on a list of directions for the case and then they changed their minds just before the case went to court on Friday.

ABC’s ‘anti-Israel indoctrination of kids’ sees Jewish group submit formal complaint | Sky News AustraliaJewish groups have pointed out the ABC’s “anti-Israel bias” has turned up in its educational program Behind the News – “indoctrinating kids against Israel” – according to Sky News host Chris Kenny.\n\nThe taxpayer-funded national broadcaster’s educational program, Behind the News, is produced for school-age kids and is often shown to them in the classroom.\n\nMr Kenny pointed to one segment of the program in which commentary pointed out Israelis have the ability to protect themselves from rockets while Gaza does not.\n\n“No mention that the rockets fired indiscriminately from Gaza started the conflict and actually targeted civilians,” he said.\n\n“And then we hear about Israel hitting targets, and we hear from a woman talking about children straight away as if they’re the targets, rather than the terrorist targeting that Israel focuses on.\n\n“This is pretty typically jaundiced stuff, but this is directed at Australian children.”\n\nMr Kenny spoke with Jeremy Leibler from the Zionist Federation of Australia about the issue.\n\n“We’ve submitted a formal complaint, and we’ve also written to the managing director,” Mr Leibler said.\n\n“This follows – two weeks ago – ABC on its flagship program, discussing the conflict, where the panel was so stacked that there was no attempt whatsoever to have any alternative voice of reason on the panel.\n\n“It was a horror movie.” Is Chris Kenny a Jew? I'd show the episode to my kids if they didn't already have strong nationalist opinions. Turds like Kenny will be flushed in a right wing Australia (like that pun?) Chris Kenny is a Murdoch propagandist. Of course Kenny and SkyNewsAust will smear our Australian ABC. That is what Murdoch hard right extremists do... Disinformation and smear. MurdochRoyalCommission now auspol This bias has to be eliminated and a start would be the merger of ABC &SBS, with culling of excess staff not required. The Jews in Australia have every right to protest at the grotesque actions of the ABC.
