The man was arrested at a home in Fortitude Valley about 7pm on alleged drug offences.
Police said he was found unresponsive in the police vehicle when they arrived at the Brisbane City Watchhouse a short time later.Police said the man was not First Nations. The Ethical Standards Command is investigating his death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
