A Melbourne riding school for people with disabilities suddenly announces it will 'cease operations' after 43 years, citing a breakdown in agreement with landowners.

Parents are "intensely upset" after a Melbourne horseriding school for people with disabilities suddenly announced they would be homeless after 43 years.President Fiona Orr said there was an agreement breakdown with the land ownersAllison March received an email on Monday that said Riding for the Disabled Oaklands in Melbourne's north west would "cease operations in its current form" next week.

She said its closure was "intensely upsetting" for the family, as she tried putting him in private lessons but without the same success."It's just something else we can't participate in — my other son has Auskick and cricket," she said.Media reports from 2018 revealed housing developer Wolfdene bought Oaklands Hunt Club, which now leases it back.

She said the club was unique. They needed their horses to stay on the property, as the cost of transporting them would be too high, and they needed a trail ride so the kids could "get out in nature and be calm". "We did discuss terms on which the new owners and us would permit RDA to continue to have access to use the property free of charge," the spokesperson said.

"Part of the property has been leased to a farmer grazing cattle to keep grass levels down so it vital we ensure the RDA activities on other areas of the property are conducted with complete safety for all participants."

Children will soon be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. But what if parents disagree? Now that children younger than 12 are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, some say we could see an increase in Family Court matters. But the courts have already put measures in place to prioritise such disputes, should they arise. The tone of this article is completely designed to demonise the parent questioning vaccinating their child, and paint the parent that is pro-vaccination as a virtuous victim of a perpetrator. Shame on you ABC Parents who disagree should be arrested and their children should be removed from their custody Jail them

Shonna's still sleeping rough, despite a new Perth homeless facility nearby that's less than a quarter fullThere are just 21 people staying at a brand new 100-bed homeless shelter in Perth's CBD, yet rough sleepers like Shonna Brown still can't get a spot. So trying to manage their behaviour before accepting them and no doubt banning them is a bad thing. Long term thinking, Shonna should be at work. This is typical of a system view of services rather than a person view of support. The barrier isn’t the “behaviour” the barrier is a lack of skilled support because the facility isn’t allocated funds to pay for onsite experienced / highly skilled staff.
