Intelligence agencies pinned parliament hack on Beijing: report | rharris334

Australian intelligence reportedly determined China was responsible for a cyber attack on Federal Parliament and the three largest political parties earlier this year.It prompted fears at the time that if MPs' emails or data were stolen, they could be used to cause political interference during the May election campaign of the kindReuters cited five sources who had declined to be identified because of the sensitivity of the issue.

The report comes amid a frosty relationship between Canberra and Beijing over the US-China trade conflict and China's military expansion in the South China Sea and growing influence in the Pacific., Prime Minister Scott Morrison said security agencies had detected the activity and acted "decisively to confront it".
