Video shows a heated exchange between an Indonesian patrol vessel, which was rammed by a Vietnamese coast guard ships in the South China Sea.

An Indonesian patrol vessel was rammed by two Vietnamese coast guard ships after it intercepted an illegal Vietnamese fishing boat in its waters in the South China Sea, according to its navy.Indonesia, Vietnam and China all lay claims to the disputed waters in the South China SeaIndonesia has sunk hundreds of illegal fishing vessels since 2014

In a video handed out by the navy, which the ABC cannot independently verify, armed crew from the Indonesian vessel can be seen and heard shouting at the Vietnamese coast guard vessel after it crashed onto the Indonesian ship. The video has since been widely shared on social media, with the Indonesian men shouting out insults such as"dog," ''pig" and"you die".

The Vietnamese fishing boat was intercepted in waters off Indonesia's Natuna island chain, which is in the southernmost reaches of the South China Sea, according to a statement by Rear Admiral Yudo Margono, the commander of Indonesia's Western Fleet.
