India's confirmed coronavirus case total has crossed five million and is still soaring, testing the country's feeble health care system in tens of thousands of impoverished towns and villages.
It reported a record daily high of 97,570 cases on 11 September and has added more than 1 million this month. India's fatality rate is 1.6 per cent, far lower than 3 per cent each in the United States and Brazil, according to the Johns Hopkins Medicine and University.
India has one of the lowest death rates in the world. The never ending focus on cases is misleading and beyond acceptable now .

I agree with cafe owners. They should be allowed to open and when they close, they should head down the road to the nearest hospital to donate some time treating Covid patients.
