India records 366,161 new infections after a monthly low number of tests, as calls grow from medical authorities for a nationwide lockdown to 'break the chain of transmission'.

"A failure of governance of epic and historic proportions," Vipin Narang, a political science professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States, said on Twitter.

Delhi's health minister said the city was running out of vaccines, with just three to four days of supplies remaining of AstraZeneca's vaccine, made by the Serum Institute of India and branded Covishield, the NDTV news channel reported. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been criticised for holding mass gatherings at the height of the pandemic. On Sunday, top White House coronavirus adviser Anthony Fauci said he had advised Indian authorities they needed to shut down."I believe several of the Indian states have already done that, but you need to break the chain of transmission. And one of the ways to do that is to shut down.

Federal Court dismisses part of a challenge to the Australian Government's India travel banThe Federal Court throws out part of a challenge to a temporary ban on passengers travelling from India where COVID-19 infection rates have been escalating. Sounds like a pretty simple reasoning, and one the act/regs would have likely detailed, meaning the challenge is likely to lack substance and be a bit thin. What did they think would happen, Citizens in Malaysia have more constitutional rights than us. The one positive of Covid has been people realising how few rights we have & the inability of Courts to uphold 'implied rights' Article doesn't say which part was thrown out & what remains
