unitedaryan This is a recurring event. Happened to me when i went to watch a test match at the SCG as well. As my cousin and i were leaving the stadium, an open top jeep with Aussie fans drove past us and everyone was hurling abuses at us. We just left hurriedly knowing we were outnumbered.

This is nothing new in Australia. I have watched at least 3 Cricket matches in Melbourne including a boxing day test and there were always some sections of crowd chanting racial abuses all the time. I confronted them and they stopped. We must question these cowards all the time.

The sad thing is that this happens because most Australians have not been the target of racist comments and/or they see taunting in sport as okay, whatever the comments made. When you’ve had a dose of discrimination directed at you, you realise that it’s upsetting.

In 2002, at the MCG I watched the crowd in my section laugh as a group of Aussie banter-lads called Alex Tudor a “f**king slave”, “spear chucker” and on and on. I’d been to hundreds of soccer matches in Europe, never heard anything like it. The police just stood and watched.
