Fiona McKenzie put it to the students: would they like to continue with remote learning on the other side of the pandemic lockdown?

It was a question from a student that made principal Fiona McKenzie ponder if her small school was making the wrong call in heading back to full-time classes next week.

Ms McKenzie also encourages staff at the school – and its two feeder primary schools in Koonwarra and on Phillip Island – not to work full-time, in the interests of work-life balance. About one-third said yes. The school, which opened this year, will look to introduce two days a week of distance learning on a more lasting basis, for those who want it.

"Some kids don’t need to be on site with their teachers to help them with their organisation and their motivation," she said. "They’ve really taken a deep dive into some story writing or project work; that was the other half of the spark."

Its a perfect system on paper not in reality........too many students would certainly not comply. Time for Fiona to return to school for a bit of common sense.

Yep no need for teachers. Should save Govts $Billions

Yeah, that should work well... School experience is a social experience as well as an academic experience

The future of education?

What if they are sick? If social distancing is necessary for others but not for students, then this means that the students are selected risky social experiments. It feels like they are used as a long stick to check how deep and dangerous the river for others to cross. Child exploitation websites 'crashing' during coronavirus amid sharp rise in reported abuse - ABC NewsFederal law enforcement agencies are deeply concerned by a surge in child abuse reports, as well as a sharp increase in people accessing child exploitation material online during the coronavirus health crisis. What does it truly say about our digusting & broken society? These are, mostly, men who show their families, friends, a totally different face & live amongst us. Anyone who harms a child in this or any way should face a mandatory life or death penalty in my book. Parasites. Once again disgraceful ABC reports a crucial issue in society, long after most of the lockdown are getting removed. WHY NEVER TALKED ABOUT SUCH CRUCIAL ISSUES AMIDST THE USELESS LOCK DOWN? Should do a story into older Australian men who specialise in human trafficking & child abuse in Australia and South East Asia. It's horrific, disgusting and vile. It will shock and educate the public that 'other cultures' & 'immigration' aren't the biggest danger to our safety.
