Immigration Minister Alex Hawke has cancelled tennis star Novak Djokovic's visa, days out from the Australian Open.
"In making this decision, I carefully considered information provided to me by the Department of Home Affairs, the Australian Border Force and Mr Djokovic."Novak Djokovic accepts 'administrative mistake' on travel documents as visa decision delayed Djokovic's lawyers, who are likely to challenge the latest cancellation in court, have provided lengthy submissions and supporting documentation to the minister.
"This pandemic has been incredibly difficult for every Australian but we have stuck together and saved lives and livelihoods."

Djokovic lied on his entry document. He said his agent filled in the wrong info. Human error. Dzjocko knows English. Why didn't he fill in the form himself? If govt lets him stay then they condone lying. We can't surely have that as a precedent.

I was rather hoping the delay in this announcement was because the Minister was obtaining the best legal advice possible so his decision could not be overturned. Having read his submission, I’m not so sure. What a laughing stock our country will be if ND wins a second appeal.

If the decision is about respecting the sacrifices of Australians during the Covid19 pandemic, then Hillsong should not escape without a fine for breaching Covid19 health protocols.
Then why was he granted an exemption in the first place? Who was the one who approved him to come in without being vaccinated? That someone need to answer this and tender resignation for causing such a mess!

rules are rules. but when there aren't any .. they make em up. (to cover their own mistake, in this case giving a visa to someone without reading the application properly)
