Adam Gilchrist joined the growing chorus of former players calling for Justin Langer to be reappointed, as Australia’s Test coach outlined how contract negotiations could play out in the coming weeks after what he described as some “extraordinary” on-field results.

Why are the drums still beating for Justin Langer? The Australian coach vowed to change his approach and he did — so why do some people still want him sacked? Probably because he is successful and not playing boys club rules. Because its not the first time he’s been forced to reign it it, he’s treated players like kids and burnt bridges - given the sob stories about what a good listener he is, and fmr players coming out in support, sounds like it’s his team driving the Langer halo campaign
