The United States Capitol is still reeling from an attack after a car careered into two police officers before smashing into a barricade.

The man was shot by police after jumping out of his vehicle brandishing a knife and later succumbed to his injuries. He has been now identified as 25-year-old Noah Green from Indiana.

Police are still trying to establish the motive for the attack but they do not believe at this early stage it was an act of terrorism. Both officers were taken to the hospital but one who has been named as William Evans died of his injuries. Investigators are carrying out their forensic work and trying to understand exactly what happened, but it is clear that after the events of January 6 it has been another traumatic day for the police.

'Let's hope this isn't what's in store for us in this country' | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Rowan Dean says it is the education system where all the 'mad lefty lunacy' we are engulfed in stems from, as the Californian Board of Education votes to adopt Ethnic Studies as a voluntary subject.\n\n'As we know, California is the wokest of all the American states, riddled with political correctness, identity politics, and neo-Marxist ideologies disguised as Black Lives Matter and so on,' Mr Dean said. \n\n'Education is where all of this mad lefty lunacy we are now engulfed in stems from. Transgender madness, climate cultism, anti-law and order initiatives. It is all being taught in schools and the more left-wing the local authority, the worse it is. \n\n'But, and this really is worthy of an April Fool's Day story, for the past few years, the Californian Board of Education has been working on a new subject called Ethnic Studies which it has now voted to adopt as a voluntary subject in Californian high schools.\n\n'April Fool's Day? I think that describes every single day under the new woke barbarianism. Donald Trump banned a lot of this radical critical race theory garbage that all of this is built on, and, let's face it, as Biden pledges to spend trillions of dollars and flush it down the toilet of renewables, more and more Americans are no doubt wondering what on earth they have done.'\n rowandean I hope it isn’t because the left racist ideology here in the US is scary rowandean Spending money in a t u r k shop is like donating money to the wrong person. boycottturks turkey_terror_state rowandean That right you fear the educated children. President Joe Biden makes 'damning' speech of the US to Congress | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says there is a 'fascinating indictment' of the liberal left after Republican Senator Tim Scott was 'set upon' on Twitter - for rebuking President Biden's claim America was systemically racist.\n\nMr Kenny's remarks come after President Biden gave his maiden speech to Congress to mark the first 100 days of office - a speech which President Biden, amongst other things, focussed on race issues.\n\n'The President also in those comments was pretty damning of the US, of what he calls systemic racism,' Mr Kenny said.\n\n'And that charge was taken on, head on, by Republican Senator Tim Scott in his official rebuttal,' Mr Kenny said.\n\n'It's a strange debate isn't it in the US at the moment , the white president proclaiming systemic racism, the African American senator defending his compatriots.\n\n'But there is a fascinating indictment of the liberal left here, the democrat supporters, or at least the opponents of Senator Tim Scott.\n\n'Because Scott was immediately set upon on Twitter as Uncle Tim, a racist riff off the Uncle Tom label of course.\n\n'This hashtag was trending on Twitter, and Twitter clearly didn't seem to have any problem with it. Ugly stuff.' Country founded by slave owners, built on slavery, spent a hundred years enforcing Jim Crow and segregation, couldn't possibly be racist because CK gets upset. Cry harder knobby. Withdrawal of US presence in Afghanistan will be a ‘generational defining change’ | Sky News AustraliaSky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen says it will be a “generational defining change” for the United States to discontinue a presence in Afghanistan.\n\nIt comes after US President Joe Biden called for an end to America’s longest war, announcing the withdrawal of troops will coincide with the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks in 2001.\n\nThe move pushes back the May 1 deadline agreed upon by the Trump administration in 2020.\n\nMs Nielsen said those who either agree or disagree with the move “aren’t necessarily falling down party lines”.\n\n“Senator Ted Cruz from Texas saying that he actually was welcoming the troops coming home, on the Democratic side he’s certainly had a lot of support from progressives who were against the war in the first place,” she said.\n\n“This has been a long running issue and it’s going to be a generational defining change to no longer have a presence there.”\n perhaps we could stay and help out.
