Newly minted Cabinet minister Darren Chester says claims colleague Keith Pitt made a deal with the Nationals leader for a role on the frontbench is “unfair on both gentleman”.

Keith Pitt’s vote in Tuesday’s National Party leadership was hotly contested between Barnaby Joyce and Michael McCormack, with the new resources minister opting to side with the incumbent.

Speaking with Sky News, Mr Chester said the suggestion of a deal was “bulldust”. “I’m calling bulldust already. There is no way any deal has been done. Michael McCormack doesn’t work like that,” he said. “He doesn’t offer jobs going into votes like that.”

Why don’t they already have them considering the cruelty that happens there. We have seen that with the killing of ex racehorses. But any old Gas or Oil company can walk onto a farmers land and do what they want without regard to livestock, water management etc. Those 'activists' also include the Farmer protesting them destroying his land. Stop hiding facts to suit a demographic. More still need to be done to stop this
