NSW to accept all 76 bushfire recommendations | Sky News AustraliaNew South Wales landowners in areas of high fire risk will be obliged to carry out hazard reduction burns on their properties in the wake of an independent inquiry into the state’s bushfire response.\n\nThe Berejiklian government is accepting all 76 recommendations of the inquiry, signed off overnight by cabinet.\n\nThe report calls for a step up in hazard reduction burning and authorises the Rural Fire Service to step in if landowners fail to clear their land.\n What could possibly go wrong! Finally. farmers and property owners get to manage their land again. Isn't repeated burning of the good way to clear land? Land clearing by stealth. Who is responsible if a landowners 'hazard reduction' goes feral. They should be charged like any other arsonist with a possibility of more serious charges if people are injured or killed.

'Expect worse': NSW fire inquiry backs limited use of controlled burnsNSW must prepare for similar or worse years in the future as the climate continues to warm, with increased hazard-reduction burning offering only limited help, the NSW Bushfire Inquiry has found. p_hannam Hazard reduction burning the way the CFS do it is dangerous and causes over 40% of all bushfire and brush fires. It is astounding they have yet to learn anything from the Aboriginals on burn offs p_hannam Damned if you do and damned if you don't p_hannam The bushfire inquiry is as dumb as the nsw government. If Aboriginal people had control of back burning for the next ten years we would have fewer fires. Rural fire service are useless and don't know what they are doing when it comes to back burning.
