State Emergency Services have been inundated with calls for help as torrential rain sweeps through New South Wales. 9News

Wind gusts of up to 70km/h are expected across Sydney and western suburbs in the coming hours and the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting more rain and strong winds tomorrow as well.

The extreme weather is due to a trough and cold front sweeping through NSW which will develop into a low-pressure system which will weaken as a high develops over the Tasman Sea. While this will bring some reprieve tomorrow, another cold front will bring more wet conditions by the weekend.

MPs withdraw spill motion against NSW Premier Gladys BerejiklianBreaking: A threatened leadership spill against NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian over her handling of a private member's bill to decriminalise abortion has been called off. Waddasurprise So did GladysB sell her soul & cave in on concessions or did spillers realise there's no public support for their chiistian jihadist demands. The Premier has to learn the lesson. Pushing too hard and cutting corners is an act of incompetence rather than wisdom. The Premier has been embarrassed several times in Public Work projects that had no proper planning and in legislation rushed without consultation.
