The history of the contract addendum that led to the ongoing drama with Israel Folau. 9wwos rugby

Rugby Australia chief executive Raelene Castle ditched a late attempt to have Israel Folau sign a contract addendum prohibiting offensive social media use, a report says.reported that Castle had intended to present Folau with the addendum during a meeting in London last November, one month after he had signed a new $4 million, four-year contract.

It never happened. Folau was first presented with the addendum the day after signing his contract, October 10, but was advised against signing it by his agent, Isaac Moses.also revealed that the addendum would have breached the collective bargaining agreement, as it had not been cleared with the Rugby Union Players' Association; leaving Rugby Australia vulnerable to a legal challenge by Folau.

Such an addendum, had Folau signed it, would have given Rugby Australia the right to terminate his contract immediately, rather than becoming mired in the ongoing hearing process. Folau is still expected to be sacked, perhaps as early as Thursday, but can still appeal and later take legal action thanks to the lack of clear prohibitions on homophobic social media use.

The failure to have Folau sign an addendum happened despite the Wallabies superstar having already attacked gay people on social media last year. After his April rant at gay and transgender people, Rugby Australia has been left to rely on standard contract terms enforcing its code of conduct.reported that Castle's role in the Folau scandal would be heavily scrutinised, with the superstar intent on being paid-out his $4 million deal; or at least a significant portion.

Folau calls rugby peace offer 'Satan's work'Israel Folau has revealed how he resisted the 'temptation' of a peace offering from Rugby Australia that would have allowed him to resurrect his playing career, branding it the work of Satan. 9News There are too many oxymorons in this whole sorry episode. I don't understand why you say he is 'troubled'? IzzyFolau has been unwavering in his Christian beliefs, so I can only assume you are connecting 'troubled' with someone of religious beliefs. Please clarify? What a lunatic! Believes in the teachings of hate against the LGBTQ+ communities by his primitive white God in the hell of Roman colonised Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. And also the imaginary concept of Satan by the sandy Middle Eastern Natives too of thousands of years.

Key Folau relationship on the rocks as end looms with rugbyIsrael Folau and manager-to-the-stars Isaac Moses go back 16 years but the football star's defiant behaviour could be driving a wedge between them | geerob geerob God will send IzzyFolau a new manager or alternatively it’s God’s way of testing Izzy. Contract debacle that left rugby vulnerable in Folau stormRaelene Castle could be on the verge of a massive, if costly, victory in the Israel Folau saga. But the administrator's missteps will not be overlooked. geerob ...Folau will win this at law and will be a significant benchmark case in regards to freedom of belief and expression; if people think that a superstitious being has it in for someone based on what they do then so be it; who cares geerob I remain confused. Not so much by the story (the absurdity of that is clear!) but why news agencies keep using Vicar of Dibley photos when writing about this story - is it a Christian thing? geerob So a clusterfuck all round IzzyFolau raelenecastle

Alan Joyce breaks silence on Folau postsQantas chief executive Alan Joyce has broken his silence on the Israel Folau scandal, saying he supports Rugby Australia (RA) for taking action against the star’s latest controversial social media post.
