Prisons don't have much in common with university campuses, but at one regional prison more than half the inmates are enrolled in education programs.

Researchers have long pointed to prison education programs as central to reducing reoffending and improving inmates' reintegration into society after release.

But without access to internet, study can be a very difficult proposition, according to the president of the Australasian Corrections Education Association Ray Chavez. "They're worried about prisoners getting access and not using it for the reasons that they're supposed to." "It used to be a flat out no. Basically, it's too much of a security risk. But as time has gone on, [things have changed]."

'The prisoner' hears earthly judge outline crimes, set a punishmentCardinal George Pell sat unmoving and unknowable as Chief Judge Peter Kidd listed with agonising precision his reasoning and consigned him to years of jail. Kidd: it is interesting and may be I am being arrogant. I'm not a lawyer but I could have written something very similar. I have 6 tertiary qualifications and have taught report writing - 3 quals are in communication. I learnt almost nothing from Kidd's oral report. This is all very premature in this particular case. The jury verdict is at serious risk of being thrown out.

Its also about the parents who want fulltime to support farm income but cant get it because of rural business decline, or cant leave the farm. Absolutely and the unions are to blame. My person experience I was in the retail unions when Shorten was leader and he negotiated our rights away bit by bit with every eba. Last one was good for older workers who already had full time workers
