Australia Headlines News

The top seven highest-paid Australian players have been revealed, along with how much they earn from their Cricket Australia contracts.

's Ashes return of 273 runs at 34.12 represented a middling return for the left-hander, who was out of the blocks quickly with scores of 94 and 95 in Brisbane and Adelaide. But he fell away after that, failing to pass 40 in any of his six remaining innings and finishing with a pair in Hobart.

It's now been more than two years since Warner made an international century, and he's slipped to 12th in the ICC Test batting rankings, but on his day he remains one of the most dangerous openers in the world, able to turn the course of a match in the space of a few hours. There were questions hanging over Warner's spot in the Australian white-ball team heading into the T20 World Cup in the Middle East, but the left hander responded in style.

His 289 runs in seven matches came at a strike rate of 146.70 and saw him named Player of the Series. With Australia needing 173 in the final to lift the trophy for the first time, Warner set the tone for the innings with a brilliant 53 from 38 balls, as Australia cruised home with eight wickets and seven balls to spare.
