My deduction was that if there weren’t the journalists to talk to, someone who’d made a career out of talking to journalists had a limited shelf life. And given the barriers to entry were so low and there are all these platforms where you can build your own audience without having to go through an intermediary, like the media, I thought that was something worth learning.
Bingo. What she nailed is it’s not KFC foisting a gimmick onto a cynical public, they’re just responding to popular demand and giving a nod to us hilarious Aussies on the way through. And sure, that might be spin, but from a marketing content point of view, it was winner winner chicken dinner. Yes, there are the health conscious who would take issue with the existence of KFC in the first place, let alone its push for families and young people. But they won’t like anything these fast food brands do.
Only a small proportion of us will be planning a KFC reception, but plenty who would never dream of one will have heard of the promotion.
Why promote FKC further? NEWS PLEASE. Not fluff.
