Now 40, Sophie Monk has finally found her groove, and love, with Joshua Gross – an entrepreneur who specialises in neurosurgical robotics.

She used to impersonate Marilyn Monroe on the Gold Coast for a living, emerged with the group Bardot in the late '90s on the reality TV show, settling into a relationship that didn't quite stand the test of time.

She's also the face of Hello Fresh, the host ofSophie Monk:"I’m comfy here. I will always love travelling but it would take a pretty amazing project to get me back to America – and I’d never live there again full time."Sophie, you turned 40 last December. How do you want to live during the next decade?

I have lived a very full life and was in Los Angeles for 10 years – I had a great time. But my heart is in Australia now. Even though we speak the same language, there's a huge cultural difference between Aussies and Americans. I'm comfy here. I will always love travelling but it would take a pretty amazing project to get me back to America – and I'd never live there again full time.I felt I wasn't trying as much any more with my career.

“About two hours into the flight I asked Josh if he was single. He responded yes. I then asked if I could kiss him.”Whether you make it there depends on who your agent is and their contacts. Auditioning three times a week is hard. It could be your hair colour is wrong, and if you're a bit sensitive that feedback can be tough. You have to be thick-skinned. It can wear you down after a while. I was super insecure and it got tedious.

When a headline said "Sophie's fat" and spoke of me putting on weight, that was hard. You remember that and obsess over it. It really affected me. I was thrown into the spotlight at 19 and it was all about image back then: you read a headline that was negative and you remembered it. That is why I love my career now. It's nice that people like me for who I am and for being relatable. Now it's about being able to relax and embrace whatever you've got.

The destruction of The Age is complete.

My life is so much richer for knowing this😶

Aaaaaaaaand there goes the hard hitting journalism they said they were going to retain. Just waiting for the announcement of a 9 show with her in it and the circle will be complete

And ...

She’s found someone with money. Maybe now we won’t have to hear from her anymore.

Deadset who gives a shit

If she takes his surname I don’t think I’ll be able to handle the irony
