Breaking: The House Judiciary Committee has approved charges of abuse of power and obstruction against Donald Trump, making it almost certain he will become the third US president in history to be impeached.

A Democratic-controlled US House of Representatives committee approved charges of abuse of power and obstruction against Republican President Donald Trump on Friday, making it almost certain he will become the third US president in history to be impeached.

The House Judiciary Committee voted 23-17 along party lines to approve an article of impeachment charging Trump with abusing the power of his office to pressure Ukraine to investigate a possible rival in the 2020 presidential election, Democrat Joe Biden. The panel also backed a second article by the same margin charging Trump with obstructing Congress' investigation of the scandal.

The full House, where the Democrats hold a majority, is likely to approve the charges next week, completing the impeachment process and sending Trump for trial in the Senate within weeks. But the Republican-led chamber is unlikely to vote to find the President guilty and remove him from office.

The abuse of power charge also accuses Trump of freezing nearly $US400 million in US security aid to Ukraine and offering a possible White House meeting to Zelensky to get him to publicly announce the investigations of Biden and his son Hunter, who was on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.

Haha as if, very partisan! Drain the swamp ✊🏽

Means nothing. Bill Clinton was also ‘impeached’. Waste of time and money by the House when SJW Dems don’t control the Senate and impeachment driven CNN losing viewers.

Wahoo, Mike Pence for President. How good?

And guess what. It won't make a shred of difference. He'll win the next election with an increased majority.

Without evidence and without any crime

Sydney house prices set to strengthen, says NSW governmentThe state's half-year budget review said three interest rate cuts by the Reserve Bank since June had a 'significant impact' on Sydney's property market, with home value indicators showing an 8 per cent jump in prices between mid-August and early December Significant impact on the stock market too. Asset inflation benefits who again? Yeah. House prices in Sydney way too low rn. Right. I can't imagine why Sydney would currently be looking 'attractive' to home buyers - the smoke haze there is hardly a desirable 'feature'. Let's be honest fires are NOT 'good' for anything - certainly not humans or animals or the environment generally and surely NOT the economy
