Our story begins with a grandpa called Jaehaerys, who needs to decide on his heir. Prince Viserys is chosen, to the dismay of Princess Rhaenys . Skip to nine years into Viserys’ reign, and we meet his daughter Rhaenyra, who is riding her dragon, Syrax . It becomes clear that Rhae is no ordinary princess when she tells her heavily-pregnant mother, Aemma, that she would rather be a knight than a mother. Aemma tells Rhae that she smells like a dragon, in a bad way.
Unfortunately, the small council doesn’t think Daemon was being very godly. Visy politely asks Daemon to avoid similar rampages in the future. Daemon says, “Maybe yes, maybe no,” compares his own wife to a sheep and then teases Ser Otto because his own wife is dead. Everyone agrees that this is a very rude thing to say. Visy apologises for his very rude brother, whom he loves.
