More than 300,000 Melbourne residents will be thrust back into strict lockdown at midnight after Premier DanielAndrewsMP was forced to take extreme measures to curb the surge in coronavirus cases.

More than 300,000 Melbourne residents will be thrust back into strict lockdown at midnight after Premier Daniel Andrews was forced to take extreme measures to curb the surge in coronavirus cases. Under the rules, no one will be allowed to leave their home unless it’s for an essential purpose and everyone outside the 10 declared hotspots will not be allowed to enter.

Meanwhile, the Queensland border battle is finally over after the Palaszczuk Government announced all states, bar Victoria, could visit the sunshine state from Friday week. Following her announcement, the Premier hit out at her critics including the Prime Minister. “These border wars have got to stop and I think a national leader should have been able to bring all of the states and territories together and frankly I’m a bit sick that Queensland has been singled out,” she said.

DanielAndrewsMP Didn’t he blame it on the end of Ramadan.

DanielAndrewsMP Andrews seems to be pretty tight with his comrades in China. Seems they have a good insight re COVID 19 he might just hand over the keys to Victoria to them. Comrade Dan could be their watchman & we just cut them off the rest of Australia. Maybe just keep the vineyards ?

DanielAndrewsMP After he had allowed mass protests to occur....

DanielAndrewsMP The people in lockdown are allowed out to go and protest this weekend.

DanielAndrewsMP But it’s ok to suggest it’s poorer communities to blame for the spread? Let’s break that down, cruise ships, people coming in on planes refusing to quarantine.

DanielAndrewsMP It is cultural... it is all good... we should be celebrating

SA records three new cases of coronavirus in travellers returned from IndiaThree new cases of coronavirus are recorded in South Australia, but all three are in quarantined travellers who have returned to Australia from India. My question is.... why the hell are there still returning travellers at all. Anywhere? We have been locked down for 12 odd weeks. nick_thyme What? No comment from you Nick? Are you ok? To be expected. It’s fine as long as we don’t have a Vic situation with 30% leaving quarantine without testing.

Coronavirus updates LIVE: Victoria in grip of 'second peak' as worldwide COVID-19 deaths surpass 500,000, Australian death toll stands at 104The recent outbreaks of coronavirus in Victoria are not due to people in hotel quarantine who refused to be tested for the virus, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Nick Coatsworth has said. Of course they are not, however it is easier for people to blame others than accept that the current outbreak is due to our own failings and while your area may not have a lot of cases can you honestly say people are behaving better than in other parts of town? well the figures about travellers, staff and security contractors at these quarantined hotels DON'T support that comment. Maybe travelers should stay In Quarantine now to prevent them from getting Covid in the community .
