A news outlet run by student protesters – the City Broadcasting Channel – reported the sonic device was used for about three seconds and caused one of its reporters to feel slight discomfort.

Water cannon trucks drove over bricks and nails strewn by protesters and sprayed them at close range in a bid to drive away protesters on the streets outside Hong Kong Polytechnic University. A spokesman for the force said the LRAD does not cause people to feel sick or dizzy and officers had strict guidelines on its deployment.

KirstyLNeedham The PLA soldiers as filmed by many were only helping to clean up the mess caused by the mobs, who have proven themselves to be proxy war tools against the people of Hong Kong, after beating and killing people, and destroying properties there. KirstyLNeedham How is it easier to deploy troops (violating 1 Country 2 Systems) than return Universal Suffrage to the HK? This move demonstrates that CCP is without a leader that has the capability of compromise. Xi is a lame duck w/ no ability to solve problems. His power must be questioned
