Hong Kong court sentences pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong to 13-and-a-half months in prison

Mr Wong, 24, has been one of Hong Kong's most prominent pro-democracy activists in the public unrest that has taken place during the past two years.

He recently pleaded guilty to charges related to unlawful assembly at Hong Kong's anti-government protests in 2019. Mr Wong's colleagues Agnes Chow, 23, and Ivan Lam, 26, were jailed for 10 and seven months, respectively, after pleading guilty to charges linked to the same siege of police headquarters at the height of the protests in June 2019.
