Spacey shed tears as the final not guilty verdict was read out, placing his hand on his chest and mouthing “thank you” to the jurors before they exited the room at London’s Southwark Crown Court.
“But I would like to say that I am enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision and I am humbled by the outcome today. The trial kicked off on June 30 when he was labelled a “sexual bully” by the prosecution on the opening day.
The allegations came out after American actor Anthony Rapp lodged a $US40 million lawsuit against Spacey over events that occurred in the 1980s, however it was cleared by a New York jury in 2022.
