'I would say 80-90 per cent of our bookings have been cancelled.'

Property owners, Airbnb hosts and holiday rental guests were scrambling to manage masses of booking cancellations after the announcement of a five-day lockdown on the northern beaches.

A public health order now prohibits people leaving their homes on the northern beaches unless it is for essential purposes, and Premier Gladys Berejiklian told all outsiders not to enter the northern beaches LGA unless it was vital. Ms Thompson-King said at least three owners were significantly out of pocket having already moved out and prepared their homes for holiday bookings over Christmas.
