Tim Costello has backed ClubsNSW's decision to sack Josh Landis after comments on Dominic Perrottet's faith, with the gambling reform advocate arguing the Premier has shown an 'absolute unwavering commitment' to problem gaming compared to Chris Minns.

"The decision of ClubsNSW to get a new CEO is a matter for them but what I will say is that the industry who wants us to worship at the altar of gambling should be the last people commenting on peoples’ religious beliefs," he said. “Minns hasn’t committed to the cashless card...Dominic Perrottet has shown an absolute unwavering commitment," he said.

In the face of mounting backlash following the Premier’s criticism, Mr Landis issued a grovelling apology for the comments made to the Sydney Morning Herald.
