From the outside, Starting Point Neighbourhood House is unassuming; cream brick, a maroon roof, and a few chairs out the front.
It was all three-foot high grass when we started … where the units had been burnt out. And I come to craft on Tuesdays now, been doing that for a while. There's always somebody here, somebody to talk to. [My husband] calls bingo every second Thursday … and we actually buy the prizes and donate them ourselves. They save me rags too, so I give them to all the boys I know who work on cars, so they can save their money that way. Because everybody knows everybody up here.
