The chief financial officer of Kogan David Shafer and Macquarie Alex Harvey have topped the ranks of the country’s highest-paid accounting chiefs, after both earning reported pay of more than $10 million last financial year.
But each of the CFOs were replaced by men, meaning the pipeline of female CFOs appears to be drying up. Women account for 21 per cent of CFOs at top 300 companies. The average age for a CFO is 50, with women at 47 and men at 51. Kogan said he had decided to diversify some of his investments with this his first share sale in over two and a half years.
Nessa O’Sullivan at Brambles was the highest-paid woman CFO with $5.1 million, although she resigned from Brambles in January this year, leaving Joy Linton from CSL as the highest-paid woman at $5 million.
