The siblings of the Westfield Bondi Junction security guard who died saving lives have hailed their brother as a 'hero of the nation' ahead of his memorial service.

A friend of theirs had flagged they were worried about Mr Tahir as they saw the news about the Westfield Bondi Junction attack, the shopping centre he was working in. Proudly speaking about his brother, Mudasar described him as a hero of the family but also"of the nation" and that he should be"proud of himself".

"He fought with that person he probably saved lots of lives. He did it for the Australian people," Mudasar said.The brothers have visited the floral tribute at Bondi.
