Sydney stargazers were treated to a 'flower moon' blossoming in the sky overnight, reaching the peak of its cycle. 9News READ MORE:

May's flower moon, also known as the full corn moon, was visible in across Australia last night.The moon reached the peak of its cycle last night.

Meanwhile, Brisbane residents have been warned fog lingering over the city has caused some delays on the road, particularly for those heading to the airport. The Bureau of Meteorology advises heavy rain in Queensland and New South Wales has now eased, with light to moderate falls expected for the next few days.However, there are still many flood warnings in place, with Mary River, in the upper creeks and tributaries of the lower Brisbane River, and along the Condamine-Balonne River system being the areas most of concern.

Hazardous surf conditions in Queensland have now eased, with surf warnings for Fraser Island Coast, Sunshine Coast Waters and Gold Coast Waters cancelled yesterday.In NSW, the rain has also eased in the Northern Rivers. Flooding is no longer expected along the Tweed, Brunswick, Richmond and Wilsons rivers. However, several flood warnings remain including in the Orara and Clarence rivers.
