There wasn't much rest for Titmus, who produced a ferocious last 75 metres to pip American swim star Katie Ledecky earlier today.in the poolside grandstand in Tokyo – was the highlight of Australia's Olympics campaign so far. And Titmus' rivalry with Ledecky continues tonight, although they will swim in separate 200m freestyle heats.
Another Aussie, Maddy Wilson, will also be aiming to qualify with Titmus for the semi-finals, which will be held tomorrow morning. In the longest event in the pool, the 1500m freestyle, Aussies Maddy Gough and Kiah Malverton will qualify directly through to the final on Wednesday morning.
