Emma Pattison and family found at prestigious Surrey independent school early on Sunday morning

The headteacher of a prestigious private school in Surrey has been found dead alongside her husband and daughter.

An investigation is under way, but Surrey police said that they believed it was an isolated incident and that there is no third-party involvement. They were called to the £42,000-a-year school at 1am on Sunday. “Emma was a wonderful teacher, but most of all she was a delightful person. In time we will commemorate Emma and her family, in the appropriate way, and in line with the wishes of her family.

Over 850 boys and girls attend the school, which was founded in 1853. Former students include MP Sir Michael Fallon, broadcaster Jeremy Vine and comedian Tim Vine.
