Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has hit out at Immigration Minister Andrew Giles as the Liberal Leader outlined his plans to fix the housing market by tackling inflated migration levels.Mr Dutton slammed the Immigration Minister’s inaction on migration and the controversial releasing of detainees in the NZYQ high court ruling at the end of 2023.Mr Dutton addressed the press Friday morning after delivering his budget reply speech Thursday night.
“How on earth they’re both in their positions is beyond me. How you can release hardened criminals into the community, who commit crimes over and over again, how those people keep their jobs is beyond me.” “We wanted the message last night to be about housing and that’s of huge priority for millions of Australians who can’t get a home under this government,” the Opposition Leader said.
“At the moment you can’t bring a million people in when you’ve only a quarter of a million homes because they need somewhere to sleep,” he said.
