Former chairman of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Defence Committee Michael Danby says it is “hard to see” international sanctions on Russia being “as effective as we thought”.

“The Russian ruble is up in value … with all the sanctions that have been put on them,” Mr Danby told Sky News Australia. “However I think it’s preventing them from getting components for many of the Russian military equipment”.
