They say hotel quarantine failures elsewhere risk being repeated in WAWA has enjoyed a relatively normal existence since the global pandemic was declared, with restaurants and other businesses reopening far earlier last year than many in the east, and virtually no community transmission reported.
But that would change in the event of an outbreak, State health incident coordinator Dr Robyn Lawrence said. Dr Lawrence said recent outbreaks in other states had proved the necessity of taking decisive action quickly in the event of community transmission."I think it's been made very clear by the chief medical officer and the Premier that the state would expect to go hard and fast to get it under control as quickly as possible.
She said the contact tracing team had the capacity to scale up at short notice, in the case of an outbreak."Your second line of defence is limiting movement amongst the community and that's where people start to talk about lockdown of varying sorts," she said.
Hysterical
Masks should be the first line of protection! Australia is so backward with its covid response
That would be because the WA gov't, like the Vic and Qld gov'ts, would prefer their citizens to stay alive and well
My god. Coronavirus always mutate. Coronavirus cannot be eliminated. The “mutant” strain data shows lower mortality. Mutations of viruses tend towards lower mortality naturally (dead people cannot transmit). These people are insane.
I wouldnt be surprised if McGowan retreated to a bunker and ordered an air strike on Perth if covid broke out.
Thats a solid sensible public health measure. I imagine most of the other states would do the same.
